2023 Jost Studentship
The Peter Jost Charitable Foundation is delighted to announce that Dr Alastair Clarke from the School of Engineering at Cardiff University has been awarded the 2023 Jost studentship. The selection was after careful consideration by an independent judging panel.
This award will confer full funding and vital experience for a new PhD student over a term of 3½ years commencing next year. This is the second such award and the Foundation are committed towards a programme of similar placements and creating further opportunities to work in creative and innovative surroundings in the years to come.

Jost Foundation Terms
The terms of the Jost Foundation’s Deed of Trust are broad enabling the Trustees to apply funds at their discretion; a summary of which can be found on the Charity Commission website. Whilst these are not exclusive the Foundation’s two primary areas of interest lay in:-

The advancement of science and technology with an emphasis on tribology through teaching and research.

The advancement of medical research and in particular the discovery and development of treatments for hearing loss.
Grants
The Foundation delivers its key objectives by making grants sometimes working with trusted third parties to deliver projects in line with common objectives and sometimes by administering small grants and donations to support individuals who are looking to fulfil goals compatible with the Foundation’s own objectives.
